ETHIOPIAN PRIME MINISTER ARRIVED FOR A TWO-DAY STATE VISIT.

The Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Mr. Hailemariam Dessalegn has arrived this morning to start a two-day state visit in the country following an invitation from President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli.
President Magufuli extended the invitation during his meeting with the Ethiopian Premier held on the side line of the 28 summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia early this year.
The visit, according to the statement issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, aims at consolidating the existing diplomatic relations between Tanzania and Ethiopia through exploring new areas of cooperation including trade and investment.
During the visit, the Ethiopian Prime Minister will meet his host President Magufuli in a private talks at the state house followed later by official talks between the two countries.
President Magufuli and his guest will witness the signing of three cooperation agreements and later address the media. 
“Tanzania and Ethiopia enjoy excellent relations and the later intends to establish its embassy in the country” the statement said adding that Ethiopia is currently presented in Tanzania by its ambassador based in Nairobi, Kenya.
To strengthen relations, the two countries have been exchanging official visits of all levels including heads of state and government. In 2005, President Mkapa made a state visit to Ethiopia as result he and the late Prime Minister Meles Zenawi signed General Cooperation Agreement.
In November, 2015 Premier Dessalegn attended the inauguration of LABIOFAM, Africa’s first larvicide factory to manufacture a bio-insecticide designed to kill mosquito larvae in Kibaha.
